The upcoming Youth and Parent Summit: “Breaking the Cycle: Making Your Next Decision Your Best Decision,” will offer a fun, interactive, hands-on, discussion-filled day of learning for urban youth, parents, teachers and mentors in the Chicago area.
The goal of the Summit is to provide attendees with information that they can use and share with others to make healthy choices that prepare them for successful futures.
The Summit will include general sessions and separate youth and parent breakout sessions featuring knowledgeable and engaging guest speakers and educators. Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a talk show studio audience and voice opinions and concerns about some of the most pressing issues facing urban youth and parents today.
The Youth and Parent Summit was developed by University of Illinois Extension educators serving Chicagoland. It will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2008 (Note: Contact Univ of IL for future Summits), on the campus of Governors State University in University Park.
