How To Make A Positive Impact? Tell Somebody Else!

Have you ever tried to pick up your purse using only your baby finger. Not only does it hurt, but you probably can’t even lift your purse. It gets easier if you use 2 or even all five of your fingers or basically your hand.

We can use this same premise when we decide that  this is the year when we are going to do our part to make a positive impact. Sure there are some things that you can do by yourself, but there can be even more of an impact if you are part of a group.

Join with a group of your girlfriends and mentor your girls or women in a nearby after-school program. Solicit the help of co-workers to bring gently used clothes to donate to a women’s shelter for abused women or better yet to use their varied skills to help a non-profit organization with their mission. Rally your family to spend part of a holiday helping out at a soup kitchen or nursing home.

We are always quick to tell someone else about our new job, our new car or house or other “good” news, but if we really want to do our part to change the world for the better, tell someone else about your commitment to making a positive impact.
