Imagining Myself As God Expects

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy:

I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly John 10:10 (KJV)

Father God,

You created me in Your image. When I live a life that is less than abundant, I am not looking like You at all. And I really have no excuse for not living an abundant life, because Jesus came that I might have life and have it more abundantly.

So I started pondering about what does abundant life look like…feel like.(You know I like to ponder) Money came to mind, but I know that it is not what You mean…money is fine but it is not the essence of abundant life.

As I went deeper, seeking You so that I could understand the meaning of abundant life, You revealed to me it is a life that is steeped, grounded, cemented in the richness of my relationship with You. The richness of my relationship with You produces fruit that I cannot generate outside of You and the Holy Spirit.

You require of me to be fruitful and multiply. The fruit that I am to produce is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, goodness, gentleness, faith, meekness and temperance…all the things that You are. A friend of mine has a saying “I’m not judging, I’m just fruit inspecting.” When my fruit is inspected, I want it to be plentiful so as I share it with others they experience the richness of my relationship with You.

I do not want it to be rotten to the core. I want it to be appealing to all those with whom I encounter. Because as I am fruitful and multiplying, I draw others into Your kingdom. I do it all for Your glory, so that others can live an abundant life. Thank You for abundant life.

In the Abundant Name of Jesus, my Lord and Savior with thanksgiving and may God be Glorified. Amen!
