Teaching Kids to be Thankful During the Holiday Season

Son Giving his Father a Present

Whose Birthday is it Anyway?

As we rush out and about to get our kids the items on their Christmas lists, have we taken a moment to have them make up a list of people who they will buy presents for?

Do our children appreciate and understand how blessed and fortunate they are? Will they simply open the gifts on Christmas morning, never giving thought to the fact that somewhere some child is getting up on Christmas morning with no food to eat or warm clothes to wear and certainly no Christmas gifts to open.

Do we dare cut back on the number of gifts our children are given so that we can use those resources to buy for another child? What do you think?
